On Page SEO
On page SEO or search engine optimisation (optimization) is making sure that your website is search engine friendly, it is a very big part of SEO. If your website is not optimised correctly then you have very little chance of getting good results in the search engines, here is a quick guide to good onpage SEO:
1/ Make sure that all of your web pages can be easily indexed by search engines i.e. make sure they never more then three clicks way from your home page.
2/ Make sure that your meta-tags are arranged correctly i.e. make sure your page title tag, description tag and keywords all match your content..
3/ Target no more then 5 main keywords/phrases per page.
4/ Make sure that you have unique and descriptive page title tags for each page.
5/ Make sure that you mention the search phrases that you are targeting within the content of any given page.
6/ Make sure that you have two sitemaps one in HTML and one in XML.
If you follow these guidelines you are on your way towards good on page SEO and to good rankings in the search engines!
